Those interested in generating income from Mexico rentals will be encouraged to know that Mexico has defined a plan to apply a creative marketing strategy to strengthen the tourist destinations in the country, and increase tourist arrivals; this plan will in turn support Mexico property value for investors.

The new initiative is supported by entrepreneurs, academics and marketing and advertising companies. In early March, 2011, the Ministry of Tourism, the Tourism Board of Mexico and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) signed an agreement to launch "Creativity in Mexico 2011", which attracts students of communication and marketing, as well as advertising agencies and public relations, designing a promotional campaign to strengthen the country's tourist destinations

The Minister of Tourism, Gloria Guevara, said that this campaign will increase visitor arrivals and domestic economic benefit of the sector. This same benefit will be seen for American and Canadian property investors, as well as vacation property owners who intend to balance the costs of owning another property through Mexico vacation rentals.

So far, many property owners have successfully been generating income by means of vacation rentals, and variety of approaches to promote tourism and the resulting increase of tourism to this country will help make this benefit available to ongoing real estate buyers. To date, the main real estate markets for expats in Mexico have been very closely tied to the main tourist regions. Besides the possibility of vacation rentals, the activities and modern services and conveniences found in tourist regions also appeal to expats and vacationers alike.

"Creativity in Mexico 2011" is a national call to allow Mexicans to promote their country and highlight the beauty of various destinations, traditions, gastronomy and hospitality, among other items. The Secretary of Tourism explained that participants should design campaigns to promote tourism to Mexico to be presented on television, radio, internet, social networks and print media.

The National Agreement for Tourism was signed by the President of Mexico, Felipe Calderon on February 28; President Calderon had likewise previously declared 2011 the "Year of Tourism in Mexico."

The multifaceted focus on tourism is focused on giving a boost to one of Mexico's key industries and improve the country's economy on the whole; foreign investors, including property buyers, who have played a major role in developing Mexico's tourism, have also been given excellent opportunities to benefit from Mexico's ongoing growth in this industry.
