If anyone property type could be named as the “classic” within Playa del Carmen real estate, it would be condos for sale on the beachfront.   The lure and appeal of living in a condo directly overlooking the wide, white beaches and the turquoise Caribbean is strong, and with good reason.

  

Yet, even within the market of Playa del Carmen beachfront for sale, there are a variety of locations and styles to choose from.   The following are a few examples of specific locations.

  

Downtown - Downtown is the classic location for the classic property type.   Playa del Carmen condos for sale along the downtown beachfront offer not only the benefit of living directly on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, but also a distinctly European atmosphere, walking distance to the famous Fifth Avenue shopping and dining area and close proximity to many cultural events.

  

Playacar Phase I - Playacar Phase I is the area's original upscale gated community, located directly on the beachfront.   Playacar means luxury.   Beachfront condos are not only beautiful and high-quality, but also in a very exclusive location; at the same time, they are still a walking distance from all the amenities of downtown.

  

Puerto Aventuras - Located about 20 minutes south of town, Puerto Aventuras is a gated community that is more like a town in itself.   There are shops and restaurants, a mall, a school, a church, a dolphin aquarium and a golf course.   There are 3 marinas, with luxury condos overlooking them and views out onto the sea.   Between the marinas are some beach areas with very exclusive condos.

Puerto Morelos - This small town has retained more of the original flavor of the area, reminding us more of quaint fishing village turned a little touristy, than an upscale gated community.   Luxury condos directly on the beach are a nice balance to this local atmosphere.

  

The following are a few examples of beachfront condo development styles that summarize some of the newer, smaller options collectively.

  

Resort condos - These condos are located directly within a resort, offering owners both excellent vacations, and a chance to generate income when they are not using their condo.

  

Golf course condos - Most golf course condos are located slightly back from the beach, but one golf course designed by Nick Price, just north of town, is located very close to the beach and handful of condo complexes offer both beachfront location and a short walk to the golf course.

  

Any buyer who knows they want the “classic” choice of beachfront condos in Playa del Carmen will be happy to know that they are getting the best there is for an excellent price; they will, however, have to choose between several very good options.
