When people think of Playa del Carmen real estate these days, they mostly consider condos on the beach or maybe homes on a golf course.   An option which is often now overlooked is that of Playa del Carmen land for sale.   Like most Mexico land for sale, this market offers excellent investment opportunities.   The following are a few areas in the city and surrounding area where buyers might consider investing in buying a lot.

Gentrifying Beachfront Communities - An area which may not catch buyers' attention at first is one of the original settlements in the town which has traditionally been low-income. The advantage is that it's close to the beach, and right next to downtown.   The beachfront part of these communities is already seeing high-end hotels go in, and some of the little homes have already been bought up and renovated by Americans and Europeans.   Specialty shops, like homemade Italian pasta shops, are also appearing.   Lots can still be found for very reasonable prices.

Back From the Beach - A similar community can be found back from the beach, “behind” downtown.   While it isn't walking distance from the beach, it is walking distance from many of the downtown stores.   A good number of nice homes have been built by Mexicans who bought when you could say the land was almost being given away; land values have tripled over the past 10 years; the incredible part is that they are still cheap, and still going up in value!

Lot developments - Both in the new development back from the beach, and in the larger resort-style developments along the beachfront there are nice gated communities which offer land for sale at reasonable prices.   The advantage of these lots is that they are in areas that are already nice to begin with and offer a few more community services.

Puerto Aventuras - New Golf Course - Puerto Aventuras is a large gated community that is more like a village of its own.   It includes a mall, a shopping and dining area, a church, a school and even a swim-with-the-dolphins.   There are three marinas and a golf course.   Originally, the golf course was only 9 holes.   Now that the second set of nine holes is under development, lots are being sold along the fairways.   Puerto Aventuras offers a solid appeal for future resale.

For those considering the investment side of a real estate purchase, buying a lot in Playa del Carmen is a very worthwhile consideration.   They should consult an agent to find the lot most suitable for their needs.
