When planning your Mexico retirement, one of the most important tasks to complete is finding the property where you will be staying, whether you are buying a property or taking the route of a Mexico vacation rental for the winters.  The following are some of the internet resources you can use to get the ball rolling in a property search ahead of time.

Mexico listings – It’s becoming more and more common that brokers are offering complete and thorough listings online to make it easier for buyers from the U.S. and Canada or other distant places to do preliminary reviews of properties before making the investment to travel down and see them in person.  Some networks of independent brokers are offering listings from throughout the country to make comparison easy.  Good listings can be sorted by price and filtered by community, location, property type (home, land, etc.) and price range.  The best listing services will include good pictures, Google map locations and even video tours to give a very solid grasp of what the property and location are like.  Some may even include a Google Street View option to give yourself a self-guided virtual tour of the neighborhood.

YouTube videos – While many people use YouTube and other online video services to watch parts of old TV series or funnies videos about cats, only a few are picking up on the idea that video searches can be used to find tours of properties, complexes, construction progress, neighborhoods and communities in Mexico.  Such videos can be very useful to add a real dimension to the map locations and descriptions of places read in articles.  The most active of professional real estate brokers are likewise beginning to produce very informative videos and posting them online for public viewing.

Real estate service portals – Some agencies are putting together an easy-to-use, all-in-one portal that allows retirees and other buyers to manage their preliminary property search from home easily.  The portals allow you to set up notifications by price range and other specifications, subscribe to articles and even receive notices when a property’s price is reduced; with the tighter retirement budget that most people are facing these days, these kind of opportunities to be the first to know and find great savings can be a huge benefit.

Of course, after doing your preliminary searching and perusing online you will want to work with a qualified agent experience in working with American and Canadian retirees who can help you pinpoint that ideal property, but the tools for the preliminary search can save you a good deal of time in the search process.
