Although land investment gets a vast majority of the attention, one of the most interesting options in Tulum real estate is that of Tulum homes for sale.  Consider some of the following features, both as reasons to consider this property type and as a check list of items you could look for.

Ecological Design – One of the defining points of Tulum’s culture and lifestyle is that of ecological consideration.  Mexico homes for sale can be found in Tulum that offer complete sustainability, running on alternative power, maintaining the surrounding natural vegetation and carefully integrating construction.  Homes such as these use construction techniques such as tall, narrow windows and air-flow based design and orientation to maximize comfort, naturally.

Contemporary-Mexican Styles – Tulum is a blend of ecological and luxury; it is also a blend of traditional Mexican and modern styles. Many homes combine these two elements, including traditional appearance (arches, court yards, etc.) as well as contemporary- rustic features such as natural stone and wood combined to give an overall luxury picture.

Close Access to the Beach – Tulum’s beaches are among the most beautiful to be found; they are wide, the sand is white and soft, and the turquoise water is always warm.  They offer a kind of perfection that is rarely found, even in the nicest beach areas.  Trip Advisor listed them among its top 5 worldwide.  While homes directly on the beach are rare, and can be a little pricy (although even these are great investments) homes for very reasonable prices can be found with close access.

Rental Potential – Homes in Tulum can have excellent rental potential in the area’s growing tourism market.  While the homes directly on the beachfront in nearby villages probably hold the highest potential, there are homes which offer other kinds of appeal, such as walking access to the beach, nearby golf courses (or future plans for golf courses), village center shopping/dining areas, and Tulum’s main town center.  The ecological aspect also appeals to many tourists who want to vacation in style on the best beaches to be found, but be environmentally responsible at the same time.

Of course, each buyer has their own needs, and not each of these features will be important to you.  Yet, if you are considering a home in Tulum, be sure to know which features are most important to you and to search accordingly.
