When you first begin your Puerto Vallarta real estate search, you’ll probably start with online Puerto Vallarta MLS listings.  Some listing services are better than others.  Of course, you’ll want to use one of the better ones.  The following are some of the features you can look for.

Thorough – The more listings you can browse through at the beginning, the more you can become familiar with the market, the variety available, the prices, the locations, the property styles, etc.  Most people will usually find their actual dream property a little later on when they work directly with an experienced agent, so the main point of this stage is to get to know the market.  Choose a listing that helps you do that.

Variety – Puerto Vallarta includes many excellent beachfront condos, but this is not all there is.  There are also hillside condos and homes, fixer-uppers in gentrifying communities, beachfront homes, and even quaint country homes in nearby towns.  Do the listings you’re using reflect this variety?

Listings from Other Locations – It’s always nice to use a listing service that includes Mexico MLS listings from other locations.  Puerto Vallarta is one of the top locations in Mexico for number of expats, modern services, easy air access, etc., but having access to a broader variety of listings allows you to compare price and quality directly and  easily.

Well Organized, Easy to Use – The listings should be sorted in a clear, organized manner, usually from least expensive to most expensive.  You should also be able to carry out a search of homes, condos or lots in Puerto Vallarta according to your price range or other criteria.  It should be clear and easy how to use the listings and identify properties so you don’t waste time trying to figure out the system that you could be using to review properties.

Photo Galleries & Videos – There are many beautiful properties in Puerto Vallarta.  The pictures should include various views of the property inside and outside.  Are there views of the Bay? The town?  The mountains?  Are these views included?

Maps – Maps help you identify the location. Even if you don’t know Puerto Vallarta, it helps you compare the location factor more easily.

Not every feature may be perfect for every property, but having these features available will help you get off to a good start for your preliminary search.
