If you are like most Americans and Canadians, you know that Mexico’s beachfront resorts are some of the best places to spend a vacation.  You may not know, however, that you can own properties within some of these same resort complexes, such as Bahia Principe real estate.  The following are some points you should know about real estate within resorts in Mexico.

Ownership is fully titled with all legal rights

Owning property in a resort complex like Bahia Principe means full ownership – not timeshare or any other such shared arrangement.  Condos and homes can be acquired with fully titled ownership giving you the same legal rights you would have for any other similar property – on a single-family home, modification, expansion, etc.  Only usual complex bylaws would have to be followed.  In both cases, owners can rent out the property for a profit.

Financing is available

Since it is full ownership, you can buy using a mortgage directly in Mexico. Down payments are usually 30% of the purchase price.  This means if you are buying a resort property with plans to gain income from renting out, you only have to pay out the down payment and you can enjoy an income, or begin enjoying the resort lifestyle.

All resort amenities are available for use

Of course, living in a resort like Bahia Principe, you can enjoy professional golf (on a course designed by Robert Trent Jones II, in this case,) restaurants, large pools and an upscale beach club – not to mention one of the world’s most beautiful beaches, right at home – a home that you own, 100%, permanently.

Prices are excellent

Considering the amenities, location near the beach and warm weather and quality of the real estate, prices are very low.  The price for a single-family home is within the average budget; condos can be acquired for even less.

Appreciation tends to be high

Resort real estate in the Tulum area has experienced excellent appreciation in property value over the past decade.  Growing tourism and the popularity of all-inclusive packages guarantees that resort real estate gets excellent exposure to the largest portion of the market for international buyers.  It also tends to be the real estate type that the majority of first-time buyers are most comfortable with since their experience in Mexico is usually resort focused.

Buying properties on a resort in Mexico like Bahia Principe has many advantages and offers full ownership with all its benefits.
