When expats search for real estate in Playa del Carmen, there are many excellent community options.   One of these is El Cielo Residencial, a relatively new gated community just north of the downtown area.

Real Estate in El Cielo

Real estate options within El Cielo are a large part of what makes the community so attractive.   Besides offering a good variety of property types and styles, a really attractive feature is that most properties in El Cielo tend to be noticeably lower priced that similar properties either downtown or in the more established gated communities, such as Playacar.

One of the most common options in El Cielo is condos.   Compared to the rest of Playa del Carmen (and even more so compared to locations in the U.S.) condos tend to be quite spacious and comfortable, making for some of the best prices per square foot to be found, and low prices in the absolute sense as well.   Complexes include large pools, comfortable green areas and often features like gyms.

Homes and villas are a little less common, but also offer distinct benefits.   Small complexes of nice villas include very nice common areas with pools and shaded lounge spaces shared with only a handful of neighbors.   There is also one complex of colonial-style homes with a river-style pool running throughout that offers a unique visual atmosphere within Playa del Carmen.

Finally, there are lots for sale that are spacious and allow buyers to have a custom home built within a very attractive community at an affordable price.

Other Important Factors

Everyone knows that there are several important factors affecting a real estate purchase above and beyond the property itself.   One of the most important is location; El Cielo Residencial is only a 10 minute drive from the heart of downtown Playa with the dining, shopping and nightlife along Fifth Avenue.   It is about the same distance from each of the town's nice new malls, each of which has a large supermarket, a movie theater (with movies in English) and good variety of shops.

The beach is a reasonable walk away from most parts of El Cielo, and a very short bike ride.   Just as importantly, residents of El Cielo enjoy use of an exclusive beach club.

Finally, the community is very nicely designed with 14 spacious green areas and bike trails.   There are only 2 entrances which are gated with manned security, 24 hours.

El Cielo is an excellent community choice for Americans and Canadians considering buying real estate and living in Playa del Carmen.
