Even if you buy a condo that is in perfectly good shape, you will still be at more liberty to turn into your dream property, rather than staying in a hotel or rented condo that is what the owner wants it to be. A closely connected point is that as the owner you will have voting rights in HOA meetings, and will have a say in what happens with the complex.
Paying into Ownership
Instead of paying into the pockets of a hotel owner or landlord, you will be paying into the ownership of the condo itself. Ever improving and growing financing options in Cancun also make it easy to make affordable, regular payments while paying into your own property, rather than someone else’s.
Rental Potential vs. Rental Expense
If you own, you will be the one to be in the position of renting out the property to generate income, as opposed to paying out to someone else. If you are not going to be using your property all year round, let your agent know so they can help you find a condo with good rental potential. There are also good property management services that make this process hands off and very easy.
Less Planning
If you own the property, you do not need to go to the process of finding a new rental every time. You simply notify your property manager that you will be using the property for a given time, and they will take care of things. You will also be used to your complex and the same part of town – not to mention coming back to your same favorite beachfront!
Bragging Rights
“I’m going to be in my condo in Cancun for the next couple of weeks …” – it has a certain ring to it. We all like bragging rights, and believe me, owning a condo on the world’s most beautiful beaches is something worth bragging about!
