One of the most interesting areas within Mexico real estate is that of the Yucatan Peninsula; it is precisely because of the variety of properties, locations and styles available that the region is so attractive.   The following are a few examples of property & locations styles available.

Beachfront Luxury

Places like Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel offer a variety of condos directly on the beachfront with splendid views of the sand and the bright turquoise water of the Caribbean.   Residents can say with confidence that they have the most beautiful beaches in the world as their front yard!

Close to the Beach

Many buyers would love to be directly on the beachfront, but would opt for savings over direct beachfront location.   In markets like Playa del Carmen real estate, the prices drop significantly only a couple of blocks back, or a short walking distance away.   They still offer access to all the shopping, stores and modern services of these locations.

Small-town Beachfront

There are also a number of smaller towns near the larger tourist centers.   While these are quieter and often have more direct contact with nature, they are still only a short drive away from the services of the main centers.   The town of Progreso in the Yucatan real estate area, only 20 minutes away from the large colonial city of Merida, also falls into this category.

Off the Beaten Track

Closely related are the beachfront areas that are really “away from it all.” These areas are beautiful, quiet and very natural, and you are more likely to have traffic problems with the local farmer's goats than with other cars.   Services are usually very basic, but costs are low and many people prefer the quiet lifestyle.   Costa Maya is an example.

Golf Course

Playa del Carmen and the surrounding area has come to be known as Latin America's golf capital; many beautiful homes and condos are available near the golf courses.

Marina

There are a number of beautiful marina communities where condos enjoy splendid views of the waterways.

Colonial

The city of Merida boasts a Mexico's second largest historic colonial city center.   There are many classic homes available for surprisingly good prices.   Besides pure colonial charm, the city also offers a very high level of safety and access to all modern services.

Basically, anyone who loves sunshine and warm weather will find what they need on the Yucatan Peninsula.
