We've all heard that Playa del Carmen is Paradise on earth.   But what about making the leap and buying Playa del Carmen real estate - would this be the right move for you?   Take a look at this checklist, and decide for yourself!

Buying Playa del Carmen real estate would be the right move for you if:

You love sunshine and warm weather

Most of the year is very sunny in Playa del Carmen; in fact, it's very rare to go a whole day without sunshine.   Of course, the weather is warm as well.   The year-round average is around 75 degrees.

Beaches are your thing

There are beaches, there are nice beaches, and then there are Playa del Carmen's beaches.   While most places re-touch their postcards to make them look a little more like these white beaches with turquoise water, no picture can do these beaches justice.

You're not a millionaire

Real estate is affordable for average and even lower budgets.   The cost of living is also low.   Of course, even if you are a millionaire, there's no reason you shouldn't consider Playa del Carmen.

The hectic North American lifestyle doesn't appeal to you

Relaxing in a hammock tied between two palm trees on the beach is not vacation in Playa del Carmen; it's day to day life.   People are more relaxed and take life as it comes.   This wears off on you after a pretty short time!

You like a neighborly community

The locals in Playa will stop on the street and take time to talk to people.   You will find yourself doing the same, with both locals and other expats.   People care about their neighbors and show it.

You've thought Europe would be nice if …

… it just weren't so expensive and far away.   Playa del Carmen has a distinctly European flavor from the large number of Italian expats who live in and have invested in the area.

Golf is up your alley

Playa del Carmen is Latin America's golf capital; with a dozen excellent courses, many of them professional, there is something for all levels of players, whether you're a seasoned player or you'd just like to try it out for the first time.

You think real estate should be a good investment

Prices in Playa have been on a steady increase and have been very resilient to international crises.   Rental appeal is also quite high in certain areas.   The ratio of rental income to property value also tends to be higher.

How many of these points did you check off?   Perhaps it's time to consider making the move …
