So, you've made that big decision, to buy your dream home in Playa del Carmen. Now those very difficult decisions start. Later, the really tough ones are going to start - like “Should go left or right for my walk on the beach this mornin?” For now, you'll have to build up to that moment with decisions like this one:

“Should I buy a condo on the beach or on a golf course?”

Now if you love both the beach and golf, this really can be a tough call. So, let me tell you about some of the advantages of both.

Beachfront

Besides the obvious point that you can walk out of your front door right onto the sand, the following are a couple of advantages to buying a condo on the beachfront:

  • Good vacation rental potential - if you're not going to be using your condo all year round, you can generate a bit of cash to cover expenses by renting it out to vacationers. The beachfront is unquestionably the most attractive location for short-term vacation renters in Playa del Carmen.

  • Views - You get to see that beautiful turquoise Caribbean Sea and bright white sand from your window every day, all day. Just imagine watching the bright sun rise over the sea while you enjoy your morning coffee on a balcony ...

Golf Course

Whether you expect to be playing golf every day or not (or even at all), there some great advantages to living on a golf course.

  • Surrounding nature - Golf courses are very green, especially those in Playa del Carmen which are carefully integrated into the jungle, with features like cenotes, the naturally occuring fresh-water pools at the entrance points to the area's underground cave and river system. The fairways offer broad views of lush, green turf and elegant landscaping.

  • Views - Of course, you get to walk out onto your balcony, or even just look out the living-room window and enjoy the views of all this nature right from the comfort of home. The views are different from the beach, but they very appealing to nature lovers and golfers alike.

  • Lower prices - Golf course properties tend to be slightly lower-priced than beachfront properties which are already very well priced in Playa del Carmen.

Best of both?

For a slightly higher price (but again still very good for a signature development on a Nick Price course) you can find a condo that is next to both the golf course and beach.

Whichever option you choose, you can see some great condos for sale here.
