While Quadra Alea condos, downtown Playa del Carmen, is not a “hidden gem” in the traditional sense of the phrase, it certainly is a gem, and in a couple ways it sure is “hidden.” Let's take a look at these ideas.

A Gem in the Heart of Downtown

Downtown condos in Playa del Carmen are just that - downtown condos; dense, close together, and in the heart of all the action. People choose downtown to be close to everything, and most are happy to give up large, spacious green areas for the sake of this convenience.

What makes Quadra Alea a gem compared to so many excellent condo options is that it gives you the best of both worlds. It's in heart of downtown, only a couple blocks from Fifth Avenue, with all its shopping, dining and nightlife, and a few more blocks from the beach - one of the trendiest beaches in town.

Yet, because of its design, it's also large with nice green areas, pools and spa, all spaciously laid out rather than built up vertically in the usual downtown fashion. Parking has been placed underground, so the full space of the complex above the ground is dedicated to enjoyment and a relaxing lifestyle.

How “Hidden” is It?

Well, because of a rather sluggish period with a less-than-adequate property management, the complex was ignored for a while. But with new property management, problems have been resolved and interest was sparked again. Yet, for this reason, the property probably hasn't gained the attention it otherwise would've. Again, not quite the standard “hidden gem” but certainly a condo complex that hasn't gained as much attention as it deserves.

Surprisingly, Quadra Alea is also somewhat “hidden” in a physical sense. From most of the streets running alongside of the property, you either see other homes, open undeveloped lots, or the stone walls that surround the complex. Sure, you get a glimpse of the tops of the condos from a few places, but no plain, direct view. (This is probably also part of what has made the condos get somewhat less attention.)

A Winning Combination

While it is somewhat of a “hidden gem” what can be said for sure is this; the existence of a spacious, green and very private condo complex in the heart of downtown Playa del Carmen, a walk from the beach, is a winning combination. Those who see the condos fall in love with them.
