Real estate buyers searching Yucatan MLS listings will find that Yucatan Real Estate offers many types of excellent properties, from 18th century homes in colonial Merida to high rise beachfront condos in Cancun, or the low-rise European styles of Playa del Carmen Real Estate, with appeal to a broad range of buyers. While MLS listings introduce us the particular qualities of each property, which buyers explore more in depth through a good Mexico agent, each real estate community in the Yucatan Peninsula has a unique set of lifestyle appeals, bring events, activities and culture to enrich the day to day life of real estate owners.

Playa del Carmen real estate is no exception. The city of Playa del Carmen is well known for its beachfront activities, such as diving, parasailing or yachting, as well as the beautiful nature in the surrounding area, such as the "cenotes" - crystal clear pools at the entrances of Yucatan's underground cave and river system. Playa del Carmen MLS listings will show real estate choices both on the beachfront, or in natural areas, or in town, depending on each buyer's taste for lifestyle. Those who buy real estate in Playa del Carmen also have Yucatan's rich history within close access, with Tulum's pyramid site on a cliff overlooking the beach only 45 minutes away, and many other Mayan pyramid sites within a relatively short drive. In addition to all of this, Playa del Carmen hosts cultural events every month, which add further variety to day to day activities.

One recent example was the second Playa del Carmen Book and Crafts Fair. This year's event shows that real estate owners in Playa del Carmen is in tune with and interested in local culture. The artisans who participated in the sale reported a 63 percent increase in sales, from the year before, selling a total of 1,200 pieces. Book sales were also up 30 percent.

This event highlighted the importance of craft shows, and culture that encourages and promotes local crafts and reading. The purpose of these fairs is to develop a healthy connection between non-Mexican real estate owners and local culture, giving residents the benefit of well made handcrafts for home decoration and other uses, and at the same time providing income and support for the artisans and their work.

Of course, real estate owners in Playa del Carmen enjoy many types of cultural events, ranging from art shows to live jazz on the beach, to international film festivals. Whatever a real estate buyer may be interested in, buyers should start by searching Playa del Carmen MLS listings; as they are in the process of finding the perfect MLS property, they should also ask their agent about events and activities in town and in the Yucatan area. They will be pleasantly surprised by the variety available.
