When one purchases a property via the Trust guidelines, What happens to the property once the 50 years is up? What happens after an additional 50 years passes. is the property’s ownership lost to the Mexican Gov’t?

Thank you for your assistance,

G Poulin

Hello Gary,
after 50 years, the trust can be renewed.
The bank will give a notification several years before the deadline, and a new trust can be prepared. And this process will continue. There have been some initiatives by several states in the past several years to cancel or to re-write the regulations regarding the Bank Trusts and the restricted zone. If such interests continues from the Mexicans, and the continued increase in demand from more and more Canadians and Americans, there might be a very good probability that before 40 years, new regulations exist allowing for more efficient ownership in these zones of Mexico.

thanks

Thomas
