Mayakoba Golf Classic Brings Attention to the Playa del Carmen Real Estate Market

The golfing world will be watching the PGA tournament being held on the Mayakoba golf club in Playa del Carmen Mexico, the first PGA tournament held outside of the US and Canada

Mayakoba GolfIn the past several years, the small fishing village off of the Mexican Caribbean and south of Cancun, has become a world important leading tourist destination Today, with nearly 10 golf courses located up and down the coast, the entire Riviera Maya region has been dubbed the new Latin America golf capital The new popularity in the outdoor sport, has also brought much attention not only to the Playa del Carmen real estate market, but to the entire Mexico real estate market as well

Mayakoba Golf Classic

Brian Gay was the winner of this tournament last year, and is back again in 2009 to try to pull a back to back win at El Camaleon golf course This won't be easy, as he will be competing against some other top golfers such as Ryan Amrour, Peter Lonard, and Jose Coceres Esteban Toledo, a Mexican golf pro, will most likely be the local crowd favorite and will be fighting head to head for the crown.

The 23.5 million dollar golf course called El Camaleon, is a unique course in itself Apart from sand traps, and water obstacles, the course includes thick tropical jungles, swampy mangroves, a Yucatan cenote called the devils mouth, and incredible beach side fairways A difficult course, yet incredibly beautiful surroundings.

Mexico Real Estate

Playa del Carmen Real EstatePlaya del Carmen has experienced amazing population growth in the past various years With figures of 80,000 and present figures at 150,000 in less than 5 years, has placed the region as one of the fastest growing communities in all of Latin America.Although not as high in figures, many other cities throughout Mexican coastlines and in several picturesque cities, have also experienced similar and impressive property purchase increases from the non-Mexican market segments The Mexican government has recognized these patterns and has been increasing their investments into infrastructure projects to continue supporting such growth Airports, improvements in roads and bridges, and supportive policies on introducing entertainment and pass time facilities such as golf courses have become priorities on the agendas for many government offices here in Mexico.
