Coyoacan Market in Mexico City

Mexico City is one of the world's largest cities 33 million people live in this city which is more or less the same quantity of people that live in the entire country of Canada Mexico real estate includes oceanfront properties, mountainside homes, and even residences within colonial neighborhoods within the city capital of this country In this vast metropolis, you will find hundreds of neighborhoods with thousands of years of Mexican history Some people imagine Mexico City as miles and miles of cars and buses and pollution, but some incredibly beautiful regions with Mexico homes can date back to the first years when the Spaniards first settled in this country.

We met Architect Enrique Preciado in a cafe of the” colonial” neighborhood of Mexico City called Coyoacan He came with many credentials and with many recommendations having studied in Mexico, in europe, US and is a professor in the UNAM department of Architecture and Design. He has realized hundreds of projects throughout Mexico and is considered a top expert for colonial architecture and history We took a nice afternoon to walk the streets of Coyoacan to view and learn information regarding Mexican designs and styles of buildings found in this colonial neighborhood

Mexico Real Estate architects“We can see beautiful examples of original buildings during the Baroque periods as well as works and influences from one of Mexico's most important architects, Barragan” explained Enrique Preciado Architect Luis Barragan graduated from Engineering school in 1923 from Guadalajara and travelled throughout Europe for several years following his completion of studies The young artist found many influences while travelling in Europe which he began to incorporate into his buildings in Guadalajara from 1927 through 1936 He moved to Mexico City and began to build many of his masterpieces including Jardines de Pedregal and Lomas Verdes Barragan is very Mexican, modern, straight lines, very pleasant Camino Real hotel in Polanco and the Kodac building off of the Pereferico highway are two wonderful examples to better understand his style He used bright Mexican traditional colors throughout many of his works and loved to have natural light flow into his rooms and spaces.

We will also find many buildings with a recycled mix of colonial architecture, traditional and somewhat of Hollywood of the 1930s.These have had continuous demand from the market mixing wood beams, stucco walls, and rod iron materials throughout the structures.Casa Malinche on the other hand is probably one of the oldest buildings found in Mexico City This building was constructed right after the Spanish conquest of Mexico Many Spaniards who settled in Mexico City, had chosen to build their homes in the Coyoacan suburb Hernan Cortez was one of these Spaniards who built his home, and had a home built for his native mistress, Malinche Malinche had created her fame from being the translator and advisor for Cortez during his trek and conquering expeditions into Mexico

The home was built in the 1500's.As can be seen from the picture, less attention to details are included into the building than the Mexican Baroque Architecture of the 1600 – 1700.Baroque is famous for great quantity of items, details, colors, and many small figures
