It’s with great excitement that we can finally announce the grand opening of the new full ownership Playa del Carmen condo hotel resort project called Azul Fives. There was a spectacular ceremony and celebration that took place on the 1st of this month.

The project is virtually completed with a few minor items to be polished up yet it looks just incredible! I was invited last week to attend a press conference held in the recently finished Mareazul oceanfront condo project, a new project paving the road here in the Playa del Carmen real estate market.  Mareazul is part of the master development called Grand Coral. I was fortunate enough to meet the great PGA golf legend, Nick Price who has designed a signature golf course in this project, and also has offered his name for a brand new fantastic golf view condo that has just commence construction called Nick Price Residences.

One of the questions was why he chose the Playa del Carmen real estate area to design and build a golf course. His team are very selective about where they create Nick Price courses and he feels this area is constantly growing as a hot destination for tourism as well as for Mexico retire industries.

In his opinion, every golf course is unique and he feels his creation works perfect with the Grand Coral lot and there was a high respect for the ecology/environment. It will be a course with the beginner in mind, yet sets out to challenge even the experienced player. 

Nick advised there are 10 holes pretty much completed and the other 8 still under construction. The course will be officially ready for spring 2011, although as most golfer’s know, it will be fully maturing and at its top playing level about this time next year.

Nick Price Residences has been doing well in sales with an attractive option compared to the other Playa del Carmen condo options.  These condominiums also have financing from the developer which is an attractive feature. It is expected to be complete in 2012. The club house as you can see below is very close to being completed and will offer a restaurants, swimming pool, business center, pro shop, spa and much more.

Tulum itself is also on the verge of growing significantly, which will make retirement more convenient.  New upscale neighborhoods with stylish village centers are begin to sell homes and land.  A new international airport is in the bidding stage for private construction and operation rights.  But Tulum has also taken a special angle, designing an urban growth plan to promote low-density development which respects the area’s natural setting.

While conveniences grow in Tulum, both Tulum and Akumal will retain their small-town atmosphere, and continue to provide high-quality retirement lifestyle with a consideration for nature.

The growth in the area will also increase rental demand; for any retiree who buys this home and uses it only part of the year, a considerable income can be gained in this way.  The current owner has enjoyed a very successful return through his rentals.

Consider a luxury retirement on the Tulum beachfront.

This summer has been a hot one here in Mexico, and the Playa del Carmen real estate market has also some hot deals and price reductions happening in the area. I would like to review a few that I’ve come across recently.

The first property is a Playa del Carmen Condo, one of the few true Mexican hacienda style condos in downtown Playa. The seller is very motivated and has reduced the price from $175,000 to $139,000. The next property is located right on the beach, inside of a private gated community. The location is excellent as its offer access to the 5th Ave for shopping and dining, yet is just far enough have peace and quiet. This 3 bedroom condo has been reduced from $469,000 to $420,000. Another eyebrow raiser here in the Playa del Carmen real estate market is also in a gated community and very close to the beach. It is a lovely remodelled 4 bedroom villa that is part of a complex that shares a common pool, palapa and tennis court. It was originally priced at $599,000 and is reduced to $425,000. One last option that is an excellent price for a property with a partial oceanview for $150,000. It was indeed a pleasure to be invited to one of the long awaited events in the Playa del Carmen Condos market.  The event was held last Thursday evening in Playa’s newest gated community that will include a brand new Nick Price PGA golf course, that is currently being constructed. It was a very well elegantly planned and larger than expected. There had to be at least 500 people of combined owners, real estate agents and other VIP’s.  Truly a top event for any Mexico real estate project from any region.

The latest release into the Playa del Carmen condos market started off the night event in the massive zen garden area, where there were performers dressed in traditional Mayan costumes that set the mood. From there we were escorted closer to the pool area, where there was a large stage set up, flashy bright video screens and lights all around. The developer was presented along with several members of the municipality, who gave warm speeches and followed by 2 musical guests that performed.

I was accompanied by some clients that are purchasing in the 2nd released project, Nick Price Residences which are currently still in pre-sale and will offer incredible views to the golf course.  They had a wonderful time and were quite happy to be back vacationing in the Mexican Caribbean after such a miserable winter back home.

I have been keeping a steady update of the construction progress of these Playa del Carmen beachfront real estate properties, yet its always a tremendous feeling to see the final outcome once a developer accomplishes his mission. Especially on such a grand scale as this project was planned to be.

The progress has been tremendous inside the stunning Grand Coral gated community and this post will show that pre-construction projects are thriving in the Playa del Carmen real estate market.

Previously reviewed several months ago in another blog, Mareazul these playa del carmen condos, are described as oceanfront and luxurious and are an amazing part of the large puzzle that makes the entire Grand Coral project. I took a quick peak to see how some of the Playa del Carmen condos were coming along in our area. There's one in particular that really has caught my attention for a couple reasons.
