Should I purchase a Condo or a Single Family Home in Mexico

If you are taking Mexico real estate financing as an option on your purchase south of the border, you need to make sure that the Condo has a master condo policy

A master condo policy protects the outside of the building along with insurancing all of the common areas that are owned by all of the Condo owners…..Many Condo's that are sold in Mexico don't have these policies in place.. For many banks that might be a problem….they will not finance a property in Mexico without this policy A single family residence on the other hand, doesn't need this type of insurance…..and in many cases be much easier for a bank to loan money on.

Just a thought before you begin your search.

Buy or Not to Buy Real Estate in Mexico….What is the Economy Telling You to Do

I know that everyone is feeling the pinch, but during difficult times, buying real estate is your best bet Especially in Mexico….Lenders are still giving out loans at favorable interest rates and the housing market in Mexico is still going up…Probably because Mexico is still one of the most popular tourist destinations If you have the property in Mexico, the banks can also give you a loan against the Mexican property!

Like any investment, consider the long term Buying your retirement property now and renting it out, can make you a profit in the long run….and then consider that the annual taxes on your property are around $250 a year…..where can you go and pay such low taxes… This certainly will make retiring early, fit into any budget

Before you start looking for property….This hold true no matter where you are purchasing a property Realtors are very busy people and should know that their client is qualified for a mortgage before they start running around showing properties to them Getting qualified will also help the Realtor know exactly how much house you can afford Once you are qualified, we will issue a letter of acceptance, and put in writing the dollar amount of what you can afford.
