You can also find some small restaurants, shops and café’s right in Playacar.

The downtown area of Playa del Carmen – This Playa del Carmen neighborhood is hot section for Playa del Carmen real estate buyers who want to be close to everything! Playa del Carmen’s downtown neighborhood, running from 30th Avenue down to the beach and covering constituyentes to 6th street, is truly the prime area location in Playa del Carmen. Why? Because everything is walkable and you are directly in the center of it all! Little Italy – Heading a bit north from the downtown section of Playa del Carmen, is the beautiful and trendy neighborhood of Little Italy! They name it “Little Italy” because the entire area has a large expat group of Italians. Here you can find lots of amazing Italian Restaurants and Italian specialty shops, even Italian hair stylists. This neighborhood is unique because it has a special comfortable style and is the home to many expats from all over. The streets are clean, the roads are paved nicely and the neighbors are friendly. This trendy section of Playa del Carmen is close enough to downtown; which makes it easy to still enjoy quick and easy walking access to downtown amenities, while being in a quieter suburban area. You can find incredible Playa del Carmen real estate options including Quadra Alea which is a landmark in the area, with its large palapa roofs bringing a modern yet Caribbean style to the area. You can also find a beautiful sports complex (currently under renovations) for sporting events.

Shangri-la – The neighborhood of Shangri-La is also a very popular area for Playa del Carmen real estate options. Here you will find a unique hip buzz at 38th street. This street is paved with cobblestone and has a pretty jungle type feel during the day and a beautiful experience at night with lit up trees; and restaurants, cafes and bars with a trendy feel. Over the course of the last year, lots of work has been done to build up the 5th Avenue all the way past CTM, down through the Colosio, to the Paradisius hotel. New condos and homes in Playa del Carmen are being built and going up on the market; as well as new shops, restaurants and cafes beginning to open their doors along this incredible new stretch of the 5th Avenue. Why buy Playa del Carmen real estate in the Colosio at this time? Because now you can buy cheaper and take advantage of an expected value increase, as the neighborhood continues to grow.

El Cielo and the Fives – Going a bit more north from the Colosio, you will find a pristine stretch of virgin beach just about a 5-10 minute drive away from the downtown Playa del Carmen neighborhood.
