The Minister of Tourism, Gloria Guevara, said that this campaign will increase visitor arrivals and domestic economic benefit of the sector. So far, many property owners have successfully been generating income by means of vacation rentals, and variety of approaches to promote tourism and the resulting increase of tourism to this country will help make this benefit available to ongoing real estate buyers. "Creativity in Mexico 2011" is a national call to allow Mexicans to promote their country and highlight the beauty of various destinations, traditions, gastronomy and hospitality, among other items. The Secretary of Tourism explained that participants should design campaigns to promote tourism to Mexico to be presented on television, radio, internet, social networks and print media.
The National Agreement for Tourism was signed by the President of Mexico, Felipe Calderon on February 28; President Calderon had likewise previously declared 2011 the "Year of Tourism in Mexico."
