Choosing you Playa del Carmen Real Estate on the Beachfront - Location Options

When we consider Playa del Carmen real estate on the beachfront, we are not simply considering one location, but rather a group of locations.  The following is an overview of options in location for Mexico beachfront for sale in Playa del Carmen to help you decide which one is best for you.

 

Downtown – This is the classic location for Playa del Carmen beachfront for sale.  Here residents not only enjoy the wide, soft, white beaches and turquoise sea, but they also enjoy the walk everywhere lifestyle offered by downtown.   They can walk to Fifth Avenue (a block or two away), which is a pedestrian street with a thriving dining, shopping and nightlife atmosphere, or two stores like Walmart, and much more.

Coco Beach – This beachfront community is an “up-and-coming” area just north of downtown.  In fact, it is within comfortable walking distance of many of the interesting parts of Fifth Avenue. As tourism in the town grows, stores and restaurants are beginning to appear along the stretch of Fifth Avenue running past this community.

 

Xcalacoco Beach – This is a mile or two outside of town, and is the scene of a number of upscale gated developments.  The developments include golf course communities and condo-resorts, where buyers can own a completely titled property within a resort setting to enjoy both personal vacations and income from rental.  This is perhaps the most important new upscale area of the city.

 

Puerto Morelos – Puerto Morelos is the end of the Playa del Carmen real estate region heading north, about 20 minutes north of town.  This town has a much more local, small-town feel.  The beachfront is beautiful, the shops and homes are small, and it is close both to Cancun and Playa del Carmen.

 

Playacar – Heading south of downtown, the first community is Playacar Phase I.  This is Playa del Carmen’s original upscale, gated community, and offers luxury and exclusivity in their truest sense.  The splendid homes and condos share their community only with really nice resorts; it is within walking distance of all the action of downtown.

 

Puerto Aventuras – About 20 minutes south of town, Puerto Aventuras is a large gated community that’s more like a town in itself.  It has shops, restaurants, a mall, a school, a church, a mall and even a swim-with-the-dolphins area.  It also has 3 marinas and a golf course.
