Buyers, investors, brokers, agents and anyone else in following the Tulum real estate market has most certainly taken notice of Aldea Zama, a unique land and condo development in the heart of Tulum. While there is no question about its value as a solid real estate purchase, the question arises, “Will Aldea Zama set a new standard for future developments, or is it just another nice development to choose from?”
To help answer this question, let’s review some of the unique and innovative features of Aldea Zama.
Location – Near Town, Beachfront, Resort
Aldea Zama’s location is a key point in its strengths. It is located right next to the town center of Tulum. Residents can walk there and enjoy the quaint craft shops, local restaurants and variety of services. Also a walk away is the future location of a new, upscale resort (Maya Zama.) The resort will include features such as a Jack Nicklaus golf course and golf academy. It will also include an upscale pedestrian promenade lined with trees, benches, shops, restaurants, bars and boutiques. At one end of this promenade will be Aldea Zama, at the other end Tulum’s beautiful beachfront. There will also be water taxis running through Mayan canals.
“Luxury Land” Concept
Aldea Zama is primarily a land development, with some areas for nice condo complexes. Yet, Aldea Zama is selling much more than simple lots. The lots are in a gated community, with well-designed access roads and full modern infrastructure and utilities (all underground). The lots are ready to have buyers’ dream homes built on them.
Contemporary Village Center
One of the most important defining factors of the “luxury land” concept is the rustic-contemporary village center which is included in the development’s plans. This village center will match Tulum’s lifestyle atmosphere with rustic materials and a natural look, but will house modern stores and trendy brands. While proximity to the Tulum town center is important, this village center is also central in defining lifestyle.
A big part of the rustic-contemporary feel is the area’s nature. Nature will be an integral part of Aldea Zama; just as importantly, the development is directly next to Tulum’s National Park, which is fully protected against any further development.
The truth is that it will be hard for future developments to emulate these factors, especially in terms of location. But Aldea may very well set the standard for what the “ideal” location and development style is in Tulum.
