There are two important points to realize when you consider Playa del Carmen condos.  One is that they are luxury, the other is that you can afford them.  Let’s take a look at what exactly, each of the two means.

To start, the following features make Playa del Carmen condos luxury:

The beach – The beach in Playa del Carmen is something else.  The sand is warm, soft and white.  The water is also warm, and has that beautiful turquoise color that you see in all the pictures (the difference is, here it’s not put in with Photoshop!)  Finding a condo within walking distance to the beach is easy enough; in fact, most of them are.  The few that aren’t are a short bike ride away.

Warm weather – Of course, it’s important that you can ride bike, walk to the beach, and swim on the beach all year round.  You can also enjoy a drink on your balcony, wearing shorts and sandals, in February!  Once you’ve lived in Playa del Carmen for a few winters, you’ll wonder how you ever managed back home.

Modern infrastructure & services – Enjoying a beachfront lifestyle is easier when you can enjoy modern comfort as well. In Playa del Carmen, this includes good roads, American stores like Walmart and Office Depot, excellent clinics and hospitals, professional golf courses, and more.  The Cancun International Airport is also 45 minutes away, and is Mexico’s second busiest airport.  Flights are direct, cheap and frequent.  Getting to Playa del Carmen is often cheaper than getting across the U.S.

Nice design – Well-priced condos in Playa del Carmen include modern, open-concept design, laid-out to be comfortable and visually appealing.  Large windows, spacious balconies and patios and well-landscaped green areas add to the comfort of living in a Playa del Carmen condo.

Nature – Have you ever noticed that these days you have to pay if you want trees and natural areas around?  Playa del Carmen has worked to preserve and integrate its natural environment into new development, adding a sense of freshness and relaxation.

 

Amenities – In addition to green areas, condos in Playa del Carmen often include features such as pools, shaded lounge spaces and gym areas.  Large stores within a short driving distance can also be expected.

What exactly does “affordable” mean?

Low prices – New gated communities are offering their first developments at lower prices to “get the ball rolling.”  Of course, these days, we need to define “low prices.”  We’ve all been in the situation where we are told that there are “low prices” only to find out that “low prices” means half a million dollars.  Not so with Playa del Carmen condos.  All of what is described above can be found for around $150,000 USD (as of 2011, which compares extremely well to similar properties in other parts of the world.)

Pre-construction discounts – Besides these already low prices, buyers can often find pre-construction discounts in new complexes.  These discounts are often substantial, and equal automatic appreciation with the simple fact that prices are higher for the later units sold.  This doesn’t even count for rising prices as more developments appear in a community.

Financing options – As a real estate buyer from the U.S., Canada or other country, you can now find a variety of financing options directly within Mexico.  These include bank mortgages and developer financing.  These make it possible to begin enjoying a very nice condo in Playa del Carmen with only the down payment.

In conclusion, the luxury you find here is much better than most of us can get back home, and the prices are much lower.  Playa del Carmen condos are, truly, luxury you can afford.
