The following is a brief comparison between the three to help buyers choose which type is best for their needs.
Playa del Carmen Condos
This is by far the most common, both in terms of preference among buyers and of availability on the market. There are condos for sale in all areas, in all budgets and in a variety of styles; this includes the beachfront, downtown, gated communities, the new developments around the malls back from the beach, in town, out of town, etc. Many buyers prefer condos because of the lower maintenance effort and the shared common areas. These common areas can also be selected according to needs. Some in town will include lounge, pool and exercise areas; some out of town will also include large green spaces that more than make up for not having a yard. Others include only the bare basics.
Playa del Carmen Homes
Homes tend to appeal to those who prefer more outdoor private space, or who like to garden and landscape according to their own tastes. Homes range from little patio homes overlooking golf courses, to villas in a condo-type setting and a large shared green area, to larger single lot homes. While homes are not common on the beachfront or in the heart of downtown, they can also be found anywhere else – gated communities, golf course communities, etc. often a walk away from the beach. An option which is becoming more common is to buy fixer-uppers in the formerly low-income communities surrounding downtown that offer a number of advantages of their own.
Playa del Carmen Land
This property type tends to be the most overlooked. While land directly downtown has become fairly price due to high demand, land is available in a number of other attractive locations. The gentrifying communities mentioned above also offer a number of lots and are walking distance to the beach and downtown. Some new golf course communities offer land for sale as well. For those more interested in the investment side of things, there is land for sale in the newly developing areas back from the beach. In some of these areas, land has seen appreciation upwards of 20%.
