La Paz Vacation Rentals – Why I Never Stay in Hotel for My Vacations

This is a story which a friend of mine shared with me about why he chooses La Paz vacation rentals, which he thought would be good to share with anyone planning a trip to Mexico and wondering about the advantages of Mexico vacation rentals.

“I’ve never stayed in a hotel, so I can’t really say if what I do is better or not, but I can tell you one thing for sure; I love staying in Mexico rental properties!  I never stay in resorts, I never fly to La Paz and I never buy an all-inclusive package.  Just not my thing.  Here’s why.

I love making my own experience.  My wife and I’ve been back and forth to Mexico many times, so I feel comfortable driving down from my home in Colorado.  Just like in the U.S., I like to drive down different roads, stop in different towns, talk to different people.  I like to make have my vacations the way I like them; different every time.  Variety.  You know what they say – it’s the spice of life.

If it’s your first time to Mexico, or you’re not comfortable with Spanish or talking to the locals much, you could try flying.  Once you get to La Paz, plenty of people speak English down there.  Americans, Canadians, Germans – even some of the Mexicans have learned the basics; some got it down pretty good!

But once I’m in La Paz, it’s the same thing; I like to have my vacations the way I want them.  Even if you fly down, you can still do this part easily enough.

Sometimes I like to go out a lot, listen to live music, have some drinks, enjoy the local food, etc. Other times, I just want a quiet vacation, walking on the beach with the wife, enjoying coffee on the balcony while we watch the sunset out on the horizon.  Other times I like to chat with people – vacationers, the expats, and even the locals.  Once I happened to walk into a little variety store – an unlikely place to find someone who can talk English – and the owner spoke near perfect English!  He was also learning French and German from those do-it-yourself CD kits they sell.  Impressive!

The thing I like about renting is that I can choose my property by how I feel.  Those resorts –they’re always the same.  In rental properties I can have a new experience each time! … ”

So, what do you think?  Try a rental next time you’re on vacation in La Paz or the rest of Mexico.
