Playa del Carmen Real Estate - Could You Own a Single Home in Paradise?

While there are many excellent property options in Playa del Carmen real estate, for many people it is their dream to own a single-lot home on a comfortable lot for their life in paradise.  If you are one of these people, you will be happy to know that there are options to help make a Playa del Carmen home for sale fit into your budget more easily.  Consider the following options.

 

New Communities – There are currently many new communities growing up around Playa del Carmen; generally speaking, the newer the community, the lower the relative pricing.  If you know where to look, this is very true about Playa del Carmen with its current growth.  An experienced agent can help you find a nice home in a community still in its early stages that has very good potential to develop into a comfortable, upscale community.  Tulum homes for sale are also becoming more common; Tulum is about 1 hour away.

 

Buying a Lot and Building – This is an excellent option for saving especially since it gives you the option of building your home exactly the way you want it.  While lots are not common in the central area of Playa del Carmen, outlying gated communities offer nice lots for sale. Tulum is generally considered an excellent location for buying lots as well, offering both modern, upscale communities, and eco developments.

 

Mortgages – If you buy a completed new home or a resale, a very viable option to consider is a mortgage from a Mexican bank.  This option allows you to leverage the mortgage against the same home you are buying and integrate the payments into a comfortable monthly budget.  More and more American and Canadian buyers are considering this option.   Playa del Carmen has several banking institutions where non-Mexican buyers can find financing.  Some developers also offer financing.

 

Price Reductions – If you are willing to take a bit of time, you can watch price reductions and get a good deal on a resale home.  This approach usually works best with a bit of flexibility, somewhat of a feel for what prices are like, and, most importantly, an experienced agent who can advise you when a good time might be to move on a price-reduced property.
