Among the beaches in the Riviera Maya, there’s something very unique about Constituyentes Beach, Playa del Carmen – its location. It combines the best features of Mexico’s Caribbean beach in themselves with an excellent location that is close to EVERYTHING!
The Beaches – Like the rest of the Riviera Maya, Constituyentes Beach has soft white sand and warm, turquoise water. This is also one of the widest beachfront areas to be found; it is part of the downtown strip of beaches which were re-widened back in 2009. The beach is located at a point which kind of juts out a bit, and is divided in half by a dock, offering two beautiful beach areas to enjoy.
The View – On either side, there are beautiful views of downtown. To the right (or south) is the original downtown strip with beautiful hotels, thatched roof restaurants and bars on the beach. This strip continues all the way to the main ferry dock to Cozumel, and is marked by downtown’s famous landmark – the lighthouse. The other direction is the new part of downtown which is defined by its Italian flavor. Along the beach are boutique hotels and trendy clubs.
Fifth Avenue – A block or two back from what you can see on the beach from Constituyentes Beach is Fifth Avenue which is downtown’s main street and has been converted to a pedestrian walkway. It is lined with shops of all kinds – knickknacks, souvenirs, jewelry, tobacco, tequila, clothing, etc. – international restaurants, trendy clubs, relaxing bars, upscale cafes and much more.
Downtown – Constituyentes – the street which ends at this beach – is also one of downtown’s major streets open to cars. It leads back from the beach to the services and stores of the rest of downtown (a short walking distance.) About 5 small blocks back there is a series of major supermarkets and nice shopping centers, as well as banks, drug stores, dental clinics and much more. This street is perhaps the most central location of downtown.
Real Estate – The entire area is surrounded by excellent real estate options, whether it’s condos with lots of amenities in the old half of downtown, upscale condos in the Italian area, or quaint little homes a couple of blocks back. The best part about living here is that, just like Constituyentes Beach, you close to everything!
Whether you’re looking for a new home in the Riviera Maya or simply a nice downtown beach to hang out on for your next vacations, Constituyentes Beach is certainly a top option.
