Playa del Carmen Condos – How to Buy Luxury, On a Budget

Most of us like the idea of “having our cake and eating it too;” we’d like to live near the beach, with warm weather all year round and in a very nice condos – and, most importantly, be able to afford it.  But in reality, we know that this simply doesn’t happen – or does it? If you know what you are looking for, Playa del Carmen condos actually offer a very comfortable lifestyle for buyers on a lower budget.  When beginning your search for a condo in Playa del Carmen, consider the following points.

Look for Walking Distance to the Beach

While condos directly on the beachfront may be highly priced, complexes a comfortable walk away can be found offering units for noticeably lower prices.  Because of Playa del Carmen’s geographical situation and also urban layout, there are regular and frequent public access points to the beach, making it easy to enjoy the most beautiful beaches in the world for anyone living in this community, whether they are directly next to the sand or not.  This makes things much easier for those on a budget.

 

Consider New Neighborhoods

While there are a variety of places to look for nice, low-priced condos, one of the most common options is that of newer neighborhoods.  In the downtown area, pockets that have gone largely unnoticed offer lower-priced lots and developers pass these savings on to condo buyers.  Likewise, new gated communities often offer lower prices before the community fills up and takes a more visible shape – to “get the ball rolling” you might say.  Again, savings are passed on.

Find a Reputable Developer

While low price is very important, so is the quality of the development.  Ask your agent to help you investigate the reputation of the developer.  Reputable developers can be found that offer high-quality condos for excellent prices.  Don’t make the mistake of thinking that you have to “settle” for anything sub-par.

Work with an Experienced Agent

Your agent will be your most important resource in the end.  They will be able to help you identify the best prices available, to investigate developers’ reputation, etc.  Be sure your agent has direct experience in the Playa del Carmen market, and that they have credentials such as degrees and certificates in real estate, as well as membership in AMPI, Mexico’s professional real estate association.

Following these steps, you will both be able to find nice properties for a good price, and also feel confident that you are buying safely.
