So you want to live in Paradise, live the life on Cabo’s gorgeous beaches?  Great plan – thousands have already done it, and are enjoying their new relaxing life on the beach.  But what do you need to do to get to that point?  Well here are some steps that you can follow.

Choose an area

“Los Cabos” as many people know the area is actually two separate towns – Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.  There are also the beachfront areas between.  Of course you can’t forget about La Paz, just a couple of hours northward which is quieter with less tourism activity.

Identify your lifestyle

This leads to a very closely related topic; what lifestyle do you prefer?  Are a golf lover? (Los Cabos has the largest concentration of golf courses in Latin America.) A fisherman?  Do you prefer to be in the middle of all the action, or off in a quieter location?

Start looking for real estate

Once you’ve identified the above two items (to some extent – not necessarily very specifically), you can begin your search for Cabo real estate.  Of course, what you buy will depend on the lifestyle you prefer; if you want to live the life of luxury, you might consider Cabo beachfront for sale in a resort; if you prefer a more out of the way  location, a more local town, you could consider La Paz real estate

Review residency necessities

How long will you be staying in Mexico at once?  If it is less than 6 months, the documents you get at the border (or airport customs) will be enough.  If you plan to stay longer you will want to begin applying for your Temporary Residency soon after arriving.

Investigate healthcare, insurance, etc.

If you are going to have a car, or if you’re one of those boat lovers, than you will want to investigate insurance.  Your healthcare needs should also be considered ahead of time.  There are excellent modern hospitals and prices are very accessible.  Health insurance are also good prices.

Make plans for home & possessions

There are professional moving companies which can ship everything from a few boxes to an entire household of items, depending if you are moving to Mexico permanently or just part time.  They take care of customs and all documentation.

Completing these steps, you will be ready to pack your bags and head down to your life in Paradise!
