Despite the alarming articles in newspapers and on TV, there are many safe areas in Mexico; where foreigners live happy and productive lives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mexico is such a popular destination among foreigners that has almost five times as many retirees as the global average: 23% compared to 5% in other countries. The top three nationalities of expats in Mexico are American, 42%, Canadian, 10%, and British, 6%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a title=\"Expat Insider\" href=\"https:\/\/www.internations.org\/expat-insider\/2015\/mexico\" rel=\"nofollow\">Expat Insider is a worldwide survey<\/a>, where over 14,000 expats were asked about their living situation and happiness levels while living overseas. People from 195 countries measured their life standards, happiness and rated their country of residence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/i255.photobucket.com\/albums\/hh138\/beatlo\/Otros\/world%20poll_zpsajyssjbp.png\" alt=\" photo world poll_zpsajyssjbp.png\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mexico has excellent rates due to the <a title=\"How to Save Money through Mexico Retirement; The Cost of Living\" href=\"https:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/blog\/2011\/02\/how-to-save-money-through-mexico-retirement-the-cost-of-living\/\" target=\"_blank\">low cost of living<\/a>, people friendliness, excellent medical care and closeness to home. Foreigners living in Mexico also reported a high level of happiness, taking the third place on the poll: just behind Ecuador and Costa Rica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Other areas in which Mexico rated really well were \u00e2\u20ac\u0153<em>feeling at home<\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153<em>the friendliness of locals<\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. Results were also positive in areas like \u00e2\u20ac\u0153<em>Personal Finance Index<\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153<em>cost of living<\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d with an 87% rate of approval.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/i255.photobucket.com\/albums\/hh138\/beatlo\/Otros\/world%20poll%202_zpsw5v596ec.png\" alt=\" photo world poll 2_zpsw5v596ec.png\" width=\"589\" height=\"477\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As in any other country, there are areas that need some improvement: expats living in Mexico gave low ratings to the public transportation system, personal safety and political stability.
