The Los Cabos International Film Festival<\/a> has wrapped up its 4th edition with another excellent year in which the best talent from the film industries of Mexico, Canada and the United States were represented. <\/span>It featured a <\/span>great number of national and international premieres and a created a space that allowed the film industry to talk about new projects and make some deals. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Among the talent on hand were Liam Neeson who spoke about his latest acting performance in <\/span>Silence<\/span><\/i>, the newest film from acclaimed director Martin Scorsese. The film is currently in post production and could not be shown but the film\u00c2\u00b4s producer Gaston Pavlovich, who heads <\/span>Mexico\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Fabrica de Cine,\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>joined Neeson at the Las Ventanas Hotel<\/a><\/span>\u00c2\u00a0press conference. Neeson had Scorsese for his 200% commitment to the project about jesuit priests facing persecution in Japan.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Also present were Ewan McGregor receiving the Protagonist Award for excellence in acting and present his film <\/span>Last Days in the Desert<\/span><\/i> with director Rodrigo Garcia, Oscar-winner Jared Leto presenting Canadian director Jean-Marc Vallee with a career tribute award, and <\/span>True Blood\u00c2\u00b4<\/span><\/i>s Alexander Skarsgard who was there for the Mexican premiere of <\/span>The Diary of a Teenaged Girl<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Consisting of the town of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, this destination has an important influence of American culture with a natural beauty and warmth. Many of the festival\u00c2\u00b4s visitors praised the location, with Neeson and McGregor speaking highly of Mexico as a place that they have enjoyed visiting in the past. It\u00c2\u00b4s only a 2 hour plane ride from Los Angeles, and with the weather averaging about 78 degrees Fahrenheit it is highly attractive.<\/p>\n

Los Cabos are spread across 17,400 square miles in a state with the lowest population density, with an average of only eight people per square mile. <\/span>There are <\/span>more than 50 miles of gorgeous beaches, golf courses designed by the world’s best course architects, sportfishing and whale watching, and a great after-dark nightlife scene. The coastline stretches from the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific Ocean and boasts 350 sunny days a year. It\u00c2\u00b4s Mexico’s ultimate seaside escape and the perfect place for the film industry to mix business with pleasure.<\/span><\/p>\n

2016 will be the 5th year of this festival and likely to be even better as the word begins to spread about the unique qualities that makes this festival worthy of checking out.
