I took a little break from my Puerto Vallart Real Estate<\/a> work to help answer this question from a client\u00c2\u00a0 – “Should we rent a car and drive ourselves?”\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 “What a great idea!\u00c2\u00a0 Did you come up with that all by yourself?”\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Just take this simple quiz to see if you are up to the task:<\/p>\n

1. <\/strong>The car in front of you has his left turn signal on.\u00c2\u00a0 What does this mean?<\/strong><\/p>\n

a.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 He is turning left.
\nb.\u00c2\u00a0 Pass him on the left.
\nc.\u00c2\u00a0 Nothing, the signal is broken and the driver has not bothered to fix it.
\nd.\u00c2\u00a0 He is daring me to pass and I should do so immediately even if I have to swerve into oncoming traffic.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

2. <\/strong>A group of pedestrians are waiting to cross the street in a marked crosswalk.\u00c2\u00a0 What should you do?<\/strong><\/p>\n

a.\u00c2\u00a0 Stop immediately and allow them to cross safely.
\nb.\u00c2\u00a0 Slow down a little bit so that they can get across if they run.
\nc.\u00c2\u00a0 Swerve around them so that they do not slow me down.
\nd.\u00c2\u00a0 Speed up so that if I hit one, he will die and not be able to sue me.<\/p>\n

3. <\/strong>What is the procedure to follow when you encounter a stop sign?<\/strong><\/p>\n

a.\u00c2\u00a0 Stop, look, listen, yield to other traffic and then proceed with caution.
\nb.\u00c2\u00a0 Slow down a little bit, but only if I am in my own neighborhood.
\nc.\u00c2\u00a0 Speed up so that I can get through the intersection before the other jerk gets there.
\nd.\u00c2\u00a0 Stop signs do not apply to me; they were invented to slow the other guy down.<\/p>\n

4. <\/strong>You have to shop in a tienda downtown Puerto Vallarta, but there are no parking spaces available on the street.\u00c2\u00a0 What should you do?<\/strong><\/p>\n

a.\u00c2\u00a0 Continue on around the block and look for another space or possibly park in the garage.
\nb.\u00c2\u00a0 Take any available spot, even if it is marked \u00e2\u20ac\u0153no parking\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I will just be there for a minute.
\nc.\u00c2\u00a0 Pull over to the side, block the cars that are parked and put on my emergency flashers.
\nd.\u00c2\u00a0 Stop in the middle of the street, so I can take care of my business.\u00c2\u00a0 The other cars should know better than to be in \u00e2\u20ac\u0153MY\u00e2\u20ac\u009d parking place.<\/p>\n

5. <\/strong>What is the purpose of the horn?<\/strong><\/p>\n

a.\u00c2\u00a0 To warn other drivers of impending danger.
\nb.\u00c2\u00a0 To say \u00e2\u20ac\u0153hi\u00e2\u20ac\u009d to friends and let everyone else know that I am here.
\nc.\u00c2\u00a0 To let the idiot sitting in front of me at the stoplight know that the light is about to turn green, so he may as well go now.
\nd.\u00c2\u00a0 Horn?\u00c2\u00a0 Why would anyone ever honk at me, I own the road!<\/p>\n

6. <\/strong>Besides driving, what other actions are you able to perform while operating a motor vehicle?<\/strong><\/p>\n

a.\u00c2\u00a0 Nothing, I pay strict attention to the driving conditions and keep two hands on the wheel at all times.
\nb.\u00c2\u00a0 I can talk on my cell phone and still keep my eyes open for \u00e2\u20ac\u0153transitos\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.
\nc.\u00c2\u00a0 I am able to talk to my passenger about the Chivas game while swerving through traffic and cursing at all other drivers.
\nd.\u00c2\u00a0 Anything and everything.\u00c2\u00a0 I can give change for a $50 peso bill, issue a receipt, talk to my buddy, and\u00c2\u00a0whistle at cute girls while drag racing all other traffic.\u00c2\u00a0 I have never lost a race and have scratches and dents on my vehicle to prove it.<\/p>\n

Scoring:\u00c2\u00a0 Give yourself 1 point for each letter \u00e2\u20ac\u0153a\u00e2\u20ac\u009d you selected, two points for each letter \u00e2\u20ac\u0153b\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, three points for each letter \u00e2\u20ac\u0153c\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and four points for each letter \u00e2\u20ac\u0153d\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p>\n

Results:\u00c2\u00a0 7 and below.\u00c2\u00a0 You are a hopeless case and should not even be trusted to ride in a taxi much less drive a car here.<\/p>\n

8-13:\u00c2\u00a0 You show promise and have potential to be a bona fide \u00e2\u20ac\u0153local\u00e2\u20ac\u009d driver.<\/p>\n

14-19:\u00c2\u00a0 Your advanced driving skills make you a candidate for a taxi driver.<\/p>\n

20-24:\u00c2\u00a0 You are the king of the road and have a great future as a local bus driver.<\/p>\n
