2015 was a record year for Puerto Vallarta<\/strong>, with the\u00c2\u00a0month of December showing that\u00c2\u00a0hotels reported 100 percent occupancy for the Christmas and New Year’s period.\u00c2\u00a0With nearly 1.8 million international travelers vacationing in Puerto Vallarta during the same period it was Puerto Vallarta\u00c2\u00b4s\u00c2\u00a0best year since 2008, an increase of almost 20% compared to 2014.<\/p>\n

According to Miguel Andr\u00c3\u00a9s Hern\u00c3\u00a1ndez, director of the Puerto Vallarta Convention and Visitor\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Bureau tourists brought “almost $30 million to the destination\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s hotels and more than $30 million has gone to local businesses.” These\u00c2\u00a0include restaurants, bars, \u00c2\u00a0art galleries, and tour operators.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>135 cruises also came to the city, and this year to be even bigger, thanks in part to the addition of five new hotels that opened in 2015.<\/p>\n

The development of\u00c2\u00a0many\u00c2\u00a0new properties is also helping out.
