The Riviera Maya Film Festival<\/strong> has announced the first selection of films for its\u00c2\u00b45th edition which is to be held\u00c2\u00a0from the 24 to 30 of June in Playa del Carmen and Cancun. At a press conference held at the Blue Parrot nightclub organizers of the festival discussed some of the locations, venues and dates in which the festival would take place.<\/p>\n Among the films announced so far are:<\/p>\n Eva Doesn\u00c2\u00b4t Sleep<\/strong><\/p>\n Set in 1952, the film stars Gael Garcia Bernal Eva Per\u00c3\u00b3n as an officer in Pinochet\u00c2\u00b4s army who is tasked with finding the body of Eva\u00c2\u00a0Peron, which has inexplicably disappeared.<\/p>\n Maggie\u00c2\u00b4s Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n The story of Maggie, a determined and intelligent design teacher living\u00c2\u00a0in New York who opts for artificial insemination by a former fellow of the University to be the donor. The film stars Julianne Moore and Ethan Hawke<\/p>\n Miles\u00c2\u00a0Ahead<\/strong><\/p>\n Don Cheadle wears many hats on this film working as actor, director, producer and writer to tell the true story\u00c2\u00a0of the trumpeter and composer Miles Davis.\u00c2\u00a0The film\u00c2\u00a0focuses on the five-year span where he stopped making music–known as his “silent period”–and his troubled marriage to Frances Taylor Davis.<\/p>\n I\u00c2\u00b4ve Seen the Light<\/strong><\/p>\n Tom Hiddleston plays Hank Williams, the\u00c2\u00a0country music legend of the United States whose legacy inspired the likes of Bob Dylan.\u00c2\u00a0The story covers six years of the life of Williams, since it began to stand out as a composer and performer, his stardom and their dramatic fall because of his addiction to alcohol and problems with various women, including his wife.<\/p>\n The RMFF is slowly establishing itself as a major\u00c2\u00a0cultural events in the Mexican Caribbean<\/strong>. Thanks to the world-class independent cinema and top international talent to Playa del Carmen and the Mexican Caribbean. As\u00c2\u00a0in previous years we\u00c2\u00a0will see\u00c2\u00a0the best\u00c2\u00a0directors, actors, and industry representatives converge here for a week of film related activity.
