The country was ranked <strong>number 3<\/strong> by the\u00c2\u00a0<strong> Living Annual Global Retirement Index. <\/strong>Recently<strong>\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong>comedian and talk show host John Oliver dedicated an\u00c2\u00a0episode of Last Week Tonight to the subject of retirement. The host even provoked an article by <em>Forbes<\/em> magazine, which examined his comments such as \u00c2\u00a8You won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get to retire\u00c2\u00a0on stockpiled Beanie Babies. This is not a secret,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Oliver added that \u00c2\u00a8the entire financial industry is a potential minefield.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d He also stated that\u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153fees can really add up, too. Think of fees like termites,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p><strong>The International Living Annual Global Retirement Index\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong>lists\u00c2\u00a0countries worldwide where\u00c2\u00a0retirees can live better for less around the world. It also measures the level of significant retiree benefits and discounts, including continued savings on things like transportation, entertainment, social services, visa costs and healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>Retiring abroad is easier than ever before and some of the world\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s most popular retirement destinations offer much more for the same amount of money than comparable cities in the U.S., Canada and Europe.\u00c2\u00a0There are almost\u00c2\u00a0one million U.S. citizens \u00c2\u00a0living in Mexico, so\u00c2\u00a0obtaining residency is not a problem.
