We were about to ask you why you think the Riviera Maya and the Yucatan Peninsula would be a senior\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s paradise, but then we remembered\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 there are way to many things to cover that cannot be summed up into one sentence. That is why we want to remind you just how great life in Mexico is for the retirees.<\/p>\n

Let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s start off by talking about the safety in the Riviera Maya and the Yucatan Peninsula. You are safe to roam around the streets at midnight if you would like. You might run into a friendly local, but nine chances out of ten, you will be left to roam and be on your own. Regardless of what you hear on the news, Mexico<\/a> is still a safe spot. There are not too many times you hear reporters, reporting about good stuff. Therefore, if you hear something that happened in Mexico on your news channel at home, most likely it will be negative news. But go figure\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 stuff happens right in your neighborhood; so don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t let the news scare you away. Go where the expats go. They know how to research like you wouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t believe, and Playa del Carmen<\/a>, Cancun<\/a>, Tulum<\/a> and Merida<\/a> are home to thousands of expats.<\/p>\n

What draws retirees to Mexico?<\/h4>\n

We touched base on the safety, which is one thing that draws retirees to Mexico. Also health care is another big one. Each city in the Riviera Maya and the Yucatan Peninsula has incredible doctors that are at your disposal. It is not like in Canada or America where you either have to wait for weeks or pay thousands and thousands of dollars. You get good care for a good price.<\/p>\n

What about the fact that you are walking distance to the beach where everything is located within the town limits. This is one reason most expats and retirees move to Playa del Carmen, Tulum and any of the big towns here in the Riviera Maya and the Yucatan Peninsula. If you live in Mexico, you are going to want to be close to that white sand. We don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t blame you!<\/p>\n

And the real estate prices, come on! You can get beautiful property in the Mexican paradise for half the price you would pay back home.
