Those who live with easy access to clean drinking water may not be aware of the struggles that nearly a third of our planet faces:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 billion people on the planet live without access to safe water<\/li>\n<li>One in four primary schools do not have access to safe water<\/li>\n<li>Around 4 billion people experience severe water scarcity for at least one month each year<\/li>\n<li>Water scarcity could displace around 700 million people by 2030.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-17333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/World-Water-Day_3-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"World Water Day_March 22nd\" width=\"579\" height=\"361\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>World Water Day &#8211; Leaving No One Behind<\/h3>\n<p>The UN\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Sustainable Development Goal 6 is to see fresh water available to everyone in the world by 2030. However, this is a tall goal, as billions of people are still living without safe water. This includes people living in North America in Canada, the United States and in Mexico. This year, the theme for World Water Day \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Leaving no one behind\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and is about tackling the water crisis. It will also be addressing the reasons why many people still live without safe water.<\/p>\n<p>Safe water is defined as water that is accessible on premises, available when it is needed and is free from contamination. Access to safe drinking water is a human right, and is one of (if not <em>the<\/em>) most important requirement for public health, and is critical to sustainable development and prosperity for humanity.
