It is difficult to have someone removed once they occupy the property. Therefore, receiving the keys to your new property is a very important step. This occurs the day before or the day of signing at the notary public. This is the opportunity to check that all items on the inventory are still present and in appropriate condition. It is time to discuss the transfer of utilities and share the receipts for the last payments. Possible topics for further discussion would include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What services are active? TV, internet, phone, gas service, etc. Can they be canceled? Areas to inspect will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Electrical \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Check that all sockets, light fixtures, and installations are working.<\/li>\n<li>Plumbing \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Faucets, showers, toilets are working and not leaking.<\/li>\n<li>Gas lines \u00e2\u20ac\u201c If present, are the lines secure and checked for leaks.<\/li>\n<li>Flooring \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Check that there are no chipped tiles, the grout work is complete and clean.<\/li>\n<li>Paint \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Paint should be complete and clean.<\/li>\n<li>Appliances \u00e2\u20ac\u201c All included appliances are present and installed correctly.
