Mexicans practice specific religious ceremonies, no matter where you are in Mexico. Without going into further detail, one of those traditions is where children perform a<strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> \u00e2\u20ac\u02dc<\/span><\/strong><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Posada\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">or more commonly known as a \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcprocession.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 They go from house to house asking if there is any room for\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Joseph &amp; The Mother Mary.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00c2\u00a0Another particular tradition is when families go to masses and then get together for a meal on Christmas Eve that sometimes may go until Christmas Day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-18996\" title=\"Christmas Celebrations Across Mexico\" src=\"https:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/lights-4694938_1920.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas Celebrations Across Mexico\" width=\"565\" height=\"387\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Also, after practicing centuries of traditional ceremonies, there are celebrations, fabulous decorations, and joyful events. These holiday festivities usually happen in public places where people gather to shop, eat, and converse with one another. It is the season where locals and visitors enjoy the creative lighting, Christmas scenes, and cheerful music. When Christmas comes to town, 5th Ave turns into a festival of lights and Christmas ambiance that would amaze Santa Claus himself. San Miguel<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> celebrates <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">this holy day with elaborate altars, fireworks, and traditional music. The\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u201c a Catholic Church built in 1865 and inaugurated in 1869, is lit up to the heavens with glowing lights. There is a spectacular Christmas tree draped in lights and topped with the\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Star of Bethlehem<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. Like other coastal cities, it too has a Malecon. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/lapaz-real-estate\/b-property-detail-lapaz2.php?propId=27316&amp;art=blxmas161220&amp;web=blog\">La Paz<\/a> spares no expense when decorating for the holidays. There are towering palm trees wrapped in multicolored lights and sparkling Christmas trees that line the waterside walkway. Besides the many festive events staged throughout the city, there is one, in particular, that attracts lots of attention. The boat parade draws plenty of spectators getting into the Christmas spirit. This is an attraction that you cannot miss when visiting La Paz.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">We didn&#8217;t mention <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">above<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> a few more decorations that have a definite presence when celebrating Christmas across Mexico. One of those colorful decorations is the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dc<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Noche Buena\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">or what we know as a poinsettia. This bright red and green leaf plant is indigenous to Mexico. You can enjoy the view of these beautiful plants everywhere during the holidays. Another decorative symbol that represents the true meaning of the season is the nativity scene.
