Puerto Penasco,\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/em>also known as Rocky Point, sits in the Mexican state of Sonora. Besides parasailing and enjoying other water activities, you can explore the\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>El Pinacate and Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve.<\/span><\/em>\u00c2\u00a0It is just outside of Puerto Penasco and part of the great Sonoran Desert. Being one of the hottest and driest landmasses on earth, it borders the\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>Sea of Cortez,\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/em>and it’s a breathtaking Paradise.<\/span><\/p>\n

Where to buy in Rocky Point Real Estate<\/span><\/h2>\n

There are a couple of different places that people like for various reasons.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We have an area called Sandy Beach, which is typically and generally condos. They offer resort-living for people that like the amenities of resorts. They have nice pools, great restaurants, unique condos, and of course, spectacular views. So if that is what you are looking for, there is a whole area with these kinds of Rocky Point real Estate Condos for sale<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other side of town, we have an area called Las Conchas. Further east, we have different neighborhoods, which are single-family homes. That means that there is a wide variety where you can have magnificent mansions or fixer-uppers homes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Is Rocky Point safe?<\/span><\/h2>\n

You may be asking yourself if Rocky Point is a safe place to live. Well, let me tell you that I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, and I feel safer in Rocky Point than I do in Tucson. There is almost no violent crime at all. Property crime, like somebody breaking into a place, is infrequent. So, yes, it is absolutely a safe place to live, and the overall safety is very well.<\/span><\/p>\n

How expensive is it to live in Rocky Point?<\/span><\/h2>\n

The cost of living in Rocky Point Real Estate condos is significantly less expensive than it is in the US and Canada.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rocky Point is just a couple of hours south of Tucson and Phoenix, about three and a half-hour drive from either of those cities, and the cost of living is significantly lower.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most people who live here can live for under $800 per person per month. This amount can get you a pretty good living. That includes things like cellphones, all your groceries for the month. It also includes the internet and even going out a couple of times during that month. So it is very easy to live comfortably at 800 per month plus whatever mortgage or rent expenses you might have.<\/span><\/p>\n

Health services<\/span><\/h2>\n

Regarding health services, Rocky Point is more known for dentistry. Many people come from the United States to meet with the dentists here and enjoy the beach between procedures.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We do have a hospital here, it is not what you call in the US Level One Trauma, but it is a hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n

The clinics, the urgent care, the hospitals around here are generally paid out of pocket because most procedures here are at a significantly lower cost than in the United States and Canada. Hence, you can go into a Doctor’s office, spend between 30 to 45 minutes with the doctor, even get some procedures done sometimes for as low as $25 or 500 pesos. However, if you need major surgery, you would want to go to either Tucson, Phoenix, or another surrounding town like Mexicali or Hermosillo.<\/span><\/p>\n
