The Holiday Season in Mahahual, Costa Maya real estate<\/a> region, is very different for many of the foreigners who have decided to make this Mexican Caribbean home, including myself. Somehow it just doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t feel right soaking up the sunshine and swimming in clear warm waters, when family and friends are freezing with cold temperatures and snow. This is the time when beachfront property owners here can make others envious simply by sending one photo of a white sandy beach, palm trees and the Caribbean water in the background!<\/p>\n

\"\"However, some traditions stay the same, and the Mahahualenas, a group of female residents (with help from their partners), organize the annual children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Christmas Party; each year with growing numbers and increased success. This year was no exception, a photograph with Santa following by gifts and refreshments for all school children made a magical evening located at Tequila Beach Club right on the malecon, steps away from the beach. A lovely reminder of how many residents are willing to give their time and resources to integrate into the local community, regardless of whether they speak Spanish or not.<\/p>\n
