Probably not, is the short answer.\u00c2\u00a0 Jimmy Buffet wrote Margaritaville in 1977, when he was still living in Key West.\u00c2\u00a0 Back then this Playa del Carmen real estate<\/a> region was a tiny fishing village with mostly \u00e2\u20ac\u201c if not all \u00e2\u20ac\u201c dirt roads that justified its existence mainly as the ferry port to Cozumel.\u00c2\u00a0 There are Margaritaville Cafes in Cancun and Cozumel and an \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Air Margaritaville\u00e2\u20ac\u009d outpost at Cancun Airport, but as far as we know Jimmy\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s never been to Playa (although local legend has it that he and the Coral Reefers played a private concert for a birthday party in Puerto Aventuras about five years ago).\u00c2\u00a0 In fact, though Jimmy\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s written hundreds of songs, we can only find five* that mention Mexico in the lyrics.\u00c2\u00a0 So it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s difficult to think of Playa del Carmen when thinking of Jimmy and his laid back Caribbean lifestyle.<\/p>\n

After all, say \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Caribbean\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and what pops into your mind?\u00c2\u00a0 St Martin, Tortola, Jamaica, St Thomas?\u00c2\u00a0 Probably.\u00c2\u00a0 Mexico?… not so much.\u00c2\u00a0 And that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a shame, because take it from us \u00e2\u20ac\u201c and we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been there – that you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll find more beautiful white sandy beaches, more inviting Caribbean Sea vistas, \u00c2\u00a0more gently swaying palms and more hammocks per square mile than on the stretch of the Yucatan Peninsula known as the Riviera Maya that centers in Playa del Carmen.\u00c2\u00a0 And yes, Playa del Carmen has a delightful collection of beach bars and hangouts, both high scale and delightfully downscale, some of them overflowing with the sort of characters who populate Jimmy\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s songs.\u00c2\u00a0 One of the bars fashions itself as \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Jimmy headquarters\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, playing his concerts on the sound system.<\/p>\n

So what\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s this all about?\u00c2\u00a0 We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re supposed to be selling Playa del Carmen real estate<\/a>, aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t we?\u00c2\u00a0 You bet, and that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s why we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re so excited about discovering the ideal<\/span> Caribbean retirement spot here in the Mexico real estate<\/a> market and helping others make their retirement dreams come true.\u00c2\u00a0 There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s no better place, and no better time.\u00c2\u00a0 Consider:<\/p>\n
