Recently, much has been said about Mexico’s excellent hospitals, which have been recognized as on-par with private hospitals in the U.S., the low cost of high-quality medical procedures in state-of-the-art hospitals, and the benefits of traveling to Mexico to take advantage of these.\u00c2\u00a0 Americans who choose a Mexico retirement<\/a> know that they will benefit from these services, in addition to the other benefits such as warm weather, and, in general, a low cost of living.<\/p>\n

\"\"Many hospitals in our Mexico real estate<\/a> region, include general doctor’s visits and family doctors within their facilities.\u00c2\u00a0 This points to one approach as choosing a “home hospital” where you generally go for check ups, procedures, etc, working with the doctors in that facility.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, retirees living in Mexico may choose to approach their healthcare from the other end, finding a doctor they are comfortable with and confident in, using their separate, individual office as the “home base” for their healthcare needs.<\/p>\n

The majority of doctors in Mexico will operate their own private practice, and besides that, be associated with and work in several hospitals.\u00c2\u00a0 If you take this approach, it means that if a major process turns up, your doctor will generally present you with a variety of hospitals where they work, and you can investigate and compare.\u00c2\u00a0 You can investigate the quality of equipment, as well as the price of the service (which usually varies depending on the hospital.)<\/p>\n

If you have insurance, you can also check which hospital is covered by that insurance.<\/p>\n

Different doctor’s offices will vary in the services they provide.\u00c2\u00a0 Some will include technicians, who carry out labs and studies, as well as other specialists.\u00c2\u00a0 Some will only offer your doctor’s services; in this case the doctor will recommend laboratories and specialists who he\/she knows are reputable; you can also talk to your doctor about costs and insurance coverage; they will usually be fair about suggesting low cost options if they feel the quality is as good.<\/p>\n

The trade off is having everything under one roof (i.e. having a home hospital) for having one doctor who will manage your medical needs.\u00c2\u00a0 For those who work with insurance, often it is easier to work within a certain hospital where they know that most or all services are covered.\u00c2\u00a0 For those paying on their own, it can work just as well to start off with a family doctor’s office; some may prefer the more personal feel as well.<\/p>\n

Whichever approach you choose, health care in Mexico retirement<\/a> will provide your needs with high-quality service, low costs, and a personal touch that may be hard to find in the U.S. or Canada.<\/p>\n
