For Mexico real estate<\/a> owners, airport experiences are important, since they often spend time heading back and forth between their home country and their new home in Mexico.\u00c2\u00a0 A new industry report highlights some new concepts of how airports around the world could function in the future.<\/p>\n

What will the airport of the future look like?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The report from Amadeus, a leading company in providing IT solutions and transaction processing for the global travel and tourism, unveiled the study \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Reinventing the Airport Ecosystem<\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d that identifies the frustrations of consumers in terms of its current airport experience and describes how to reinvent airports with new business models that will drive airport experience and revenues beyond traditional aviation.\u00c2\u00a0 The concepts are expected to see reality starting before 2025.<\/p>\n

Among the models that are emerging for airports of the future are:<\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The airport as a mall:<\/strong> The infrastructure for purchase, leisure and entertainment are equal or superior quality to those of the target cities and will be available also for customers who are not flying.\u00c2\u00a0 Such a concept is already taking some shape in many international airports.\u00c2\u00a0 Shopping is being emphasized in Cancun International Airport, serving the Cancun real estate<\/a>, Playa del Carmen real estate<\/a> and Tulum real estate<\/a> areas, though the shopping is still primarily focused on tourists on their way through.<\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The airport as a city in miniature:<\/strong> A self-sufficient entity that offers exclusive shopping areas, entertainment, restaurants, workplaces and hotel accommodation. It might even grow its own food and internally generate the necessary energy.<\/p>\n

The airport as an extension of the city:<\/strong> Closely integrated with the city in which it is located, the airport will reflect the best of culture, history and native cuisine.<\/p>\n

The airport as a transit area:<\/strong> In such cases, passengers will be able to access many of the processes currently taking place at the airport remotely – from home or in a separate virtual terminal.<\/p>\n

The airport and bus station:<\/strong> In the low cost segment of the spectrum there is a tendency toward the model of a “bus station”, a practical environment in which the speed and efficiency will be key.<\/p>\n

In all cases, it looks as though airport users can look forward to new and unique experiences within airports.\u00c2\u00a0 With Mexico\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s current focus and leadership within the tourism industry, perhaps new models and concepts will appear here early on!<\/p>\n
