A few weeks ago, Doug posted an update on the construction progress<\/a> for Hacienda del Rio<\/a>, a colonial-style retirement community in Playa del Carmen.<\/p>\n

Things have come along quite nicely since then, and I wanted to share some more pictures of the model home<\/a> as it nears completion, as well as the development as a whole.<\/p>\n

First, here are the interior designer and I taking a look inside the model home:<\/p>\n

Notice the worker behind us, finishing the wall which features an elegant, colonial-inspired exposed stone and plaster combination:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Here we are taking a look at the drainage in the shower, also making sure the practical details are working well!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This is the model home from the outside.\u00c2\u00a0 Notice the same combination of exposed stone and concrete, as well as the beautiful wood-framed window:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And the rugged wood in door frame:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Here we are on the rooftop patio.\u00c2\u00a0 At the top left, notice the fine work in the moldings finishing the edge of the roof:<\/p>\n

In one of the less finished homes, you can see more of the stonework as well as the large column, again inspired by Mexico’s traditional architecture:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Finally, this is the view of some of the houses still in the earlier stages of construction:<\/p>\n

I look forward to seeing these beautiful homes completed, and I will certainly share more pictures when they are!<\/p>\n

Aqu\u00c3\u00ad una vista de la parte exterior de la casa, con terminados en piedra tambi\u00c3\u00a9n, madera y hermosas ventanas corredizas.<\/p>\n

Marcos de puerta en madera para ese toque colonial.<\/p>\n

En la parte superior se encuentra la terraza y el \u00c3\u00a1rea de lavado.<\/p>\n

Aqu\u00c3\u00ad pueden observar los arcos y los detalles de las columnas para ese acabado colonial que se busca en Hacienda del R\u00c3\u00ado.<\/p>\n

Finalmente podemos observar el avance del resto de las casas y la alberca en forma de r\u00c3\u00ado que las rodear\u00c3\u00a1.<\/p>\n
