Drywall is almost never used, and used very poorly when it is.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ceramic Tile Abounds \u00e2\u20ac\u201c<\/strong> Floors, bathrooms, kitchens and counters are most often finished with ceramic tile.\u00c2\u00a0 This is another plus for quality and visual appeal!<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"Ceramic tiles on counters walls and floors are very common\" src=\"http:\/\/i255.photobucket.com\/albums\/hh138\/beatlo\/Homes%20Restorer\/Ceramictilesoncounterswallsandfloorsareverycommon_zpsac642cf1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" \/>\u00c2\u00a0No Central Systems<\/strong> \u00e2\u20ac\u201c While air conditioning is just about everywhere, it&#8217;s usually individual mini-split units in each room.\u00c2\u00a0 There&#8217;s also no central-vac or central heating (which is usually not necessary in most parts of the country.)\u00c2\u00a0 The concrete construction probably has a lot to do with this.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>No Basement, No Attic \u00e2\u20ac\u201c<\/strong> The foundation is directly at ground level with no basement.\u00c2\u00a0 There are also no attics.\u00c2\u00a0 In fact, you might have a bit of trouble describing exactly what these are to some Mexicans.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Flat Roofs<\/strong> \u00e2\u20ac\u201c The rooftops are usually flat, with just a slight dip for drainage.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 This lends them very nicely to rooftop patios, which I am sure you will get very used to!<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Easy Upward Expansion<\/strong> \u00e2\u20ac\u201c On a more practical level, the flat roofs are not only easier to build another level on top of, but in many cases they are actually designed for it, making it much easier than the almost complete re-constructions that people have to do up north.<\/p>\n<p>There are probably more differences, but these are often the most striking.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<br \/>\n<strong>Thomas Lloyd<\/strong><em> graduated from Purdue University Krannert School of Management with a degree in Management\/Financial Option Investments.
