Notice that word – \u00e2\u20ac\u0153become.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0 When most people start off looking for their property in paradise<\/a>, they are very open and flexible.\u00c2\u00a0 After all, it usually opens up many possibilities that were not open before \u00e2\u20ac\u201c a home on the beach<\/a>, a penthouse, a large condo in a gated community, etc.<\/p>\n

Back in the US or Canada, those items would’ve simply out of the reach of most budgets.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And Then We Get Spoiled\u00c2\u00a0\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Seeing what’s available can do something to us. A beautiful condo<\/a> next to the golf course, a penthouse in a new gated community \u00e2\u20ac\u201c \u00e2\u20ac\u0153What if I could find that perfect property that has it all \u00e2\u20ac\u201c for a cheap price?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

While we start of the real estate search excited about everything we see, we quickly find ourselves focusing on what each property doesn’t have:<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153That beautiful penthouse is a mile from the beach.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153This downtown condo next to all the shops doesn’t have a pool.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153If I buy that lot, I’ll have to wait while they build the house.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Priorities Make All the Difference<\/strong><\/p>\n

While we all have preferences, getting to the point of always focusing on the part missing can make a search frustrating and drawn out for you \u00e2\u20ac\u201c when the fact is that you’ve probably seen several properties already that would’ve been near perfect.<\/p>\n

To avoid this, it’s worth making a list of priorities.\u00c2\u00a0 Write down all the things you’ve seen \u00e2\u20ac\u0153missing\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and decide which ones are absolutely necessary, preferable and which ones are nice but could be done without.<\/p>\n

Maybe the pool is indispensable, but, even though you like gated communities, you could do without if the complex were nice.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>Then look at your list of properties again.\u00c2\u00a0 Are there some that meet all the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153absolutely necessary\u00e2\u20ac\u009d items? Perhaps they have a couple (but not all) of the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153preferable\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153nice\u00e2\u20ac\u009d as well.\u00c2\u00a0 Reconsider them.<\/p>\n

Think back to how you would’ve seen these places back <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Is What I Want Possible?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you’re list of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153absolutely necessary\u00e2\u20ac\u009d becomes long, ask your agent if it’s possible or likely that you’ll find a property that meets all the points within your budget.<\/p>\n

If you are working with the right agent<\/a>, they will be honest with you either way:<\/p>\n
