{"id":7005,"date":"2013-09-17T10:31:32","date_gmt":"2013-09-17T16:31:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/temp-blog\/?p=7005"},"modified":"2017-08-28T16:15:39","modified_gmt":"2017-08-28T21:15:39","slug":"consider-choosing-a-home-on-the-other-side-of-30th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/blog\/2013\/09\/consider-choosing-a-home-on-the-other-side-of-30th\/","title":{"rendered":"Consider choosing a home on the other side of 30th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"Jimmy's place condos\" src=\"http:\/\/i255.photobucket.com\/albums\/hh138\/beatlo\/Playa%20del%20Carmen%20Condos\/jimmys3_zpsc2593724.jpg\" width=\"250\" \/>Most often when clients are searching for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/playadelcarmen-real-estate\/homes-playadelcarmen.php\">homes in Playa del Carmen<\/a> they are more comfortable with seeing real estate options that go from 30<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue to the beach.\u00c2\u00a0 And surprisingly the main reason for this is because people assume that once you cross the 30<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue it becomes dark, gloomy, and scary and only for Mexican locals.<\/p>\n<p>While you should always search for a neighborhood that you feel you will be comfortable to live in I want to correct a few misconceptions about this particular area.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>There are only Mexicans living on the other side of 30<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This is a misconception; actually, there are a moderate amount of expats from America, Canada and all over Europe living in those areas.\u00c2\u00a0 The difference may be that most of these expats are people who are living here full time, working and are on a budget.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/real-estate-deals.php\">Housing is more affordable here<\/a> than areas closer to the beach so this works better when someone needs to manage their finances more.\u00c2\u00a0 In this location, you can live in nice home among other expats with the advantage of getting more bang for your buck!\u00c2\u00a0 It is actually a preferred location for those who know Playa well. (For examples of condos in this community and other parts of Playa, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/playadelcarmen-real-estate\/preconstruction-playadelcarmen.php\">this page<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" alt=\"Beautiful home in 30 Avenue in Playa del Carmen\" src=\"http:\/\/i255.photobucket.com\/albums\/hh138\/beatlo\/Playa%20del%20Carmen%20Condos\/Beautifulhomein30AvenueinPlayadelCarmen_zpsda663fea.jpg\" width=\"250\" \/>The Houses look run down and scary and must only be for poor people<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>While there is a certain level of poverty in Playa del Carmen, and some mixed in even in nicer neighborhoods, in general these concrete eyesores that you see are just that; eyesores!\u00c2\u00a0 If you walk inside some of these \u00e2\u20ac\u0153ugly\u00e2\u20ac\u009d looking houses you will find beautiful modern living!<\/p>\n<p>I feel that because the homes are constructed much different here, than homes say, in the U.S. and Canada which are built with wood and covered with nice siding; it brings a certain shock factor when seeing a home built of concrete.\u00c2\u00a0 A concrete house can appear to be very simple and some may mistake that for being run down.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s unsafe<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The other side of the 30<sup>th<\/sup> is not considered anymore unsafe than other areas in Playa.\u00c2\u00a0 The streets are well lit and you are surrounded by good neighbors.\u00c2\u00a0 In fact, you might even consider it a bit safer since most of the people living there are full time residents and tend to better watch out for their neighbors and community.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 In areas closer to the beach it starts to get more touristic and people are consistently coming and going making it harder to really get to know your neighbors.<\/p>\n<p>Now that we have cleared up a few misconceptions about life on the other side of the 30<sup>th <\/sup>next week I will be talking a bit about the strengths and reasons why choosing a home in that neighborhood could\u00c2\u00a0 be beneficial to you.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<br \/>\n<strong>Andy Welbourne<\/strong><em>, from London, Ontario, has been living in Playa del Carmen and working as a part of the team with Thomas Lloyd for 7 years.
