{"id":341,"date":"2013-05-30T16:23:41","date_gmt":"2013-05-30T21:23:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/brokers\/?p=341"},"modified":"2014-10-02T21:20:18","modified_gmt":"2014-10-03T02:20:18","slug":"riviera-maya-vallarta-and-cabos-are-mexicos-best-places-for-business-forbes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/brokers\/2013\/05\/riviera-maya-vallarta-and-cabos-are-mexicos-best-places-for-business-forbes\/","title":{"rendered":"<!--:en-->Riviera Maya, Vallarta and Cabos are Mexico&#8217;s Best Places for Business: Forbes<!--:-->"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--:en--><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-343\" alt=\"Business in Mexico - Cancun\" src=\"http:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/brokers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Cancun-Center-for-Conventions-and-Exhibitions-300x156.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"156\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/brokers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Cancun-Center-for-Conventions-and-Exhibitions-300x156.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/brokers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Cancun-Center-for-Conventions-and-Exhibitions.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>So, you want to do business in Mexico? \u00a0Where&#8217;s your best bet?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to a recent evaluation from Forbes (in Spanish) has shed some light on the issue.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cancun and the Riviera Maya<\/strong> figure very highly in the evaluation as do <strong>Los Cabos<\/strong> and <strong>Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Forbes&#8217; ranking considered the following factors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arrival and travel by land and air<\/li>\n<li>Infrastructure for business conventions<\/li>\n<li>Hotel capacity in the executive class<\/li>\n<li>Food and dining<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Results<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cancun and the Riviera Maya, which were given separate evaluations, ranked 1st and 9th respectively. \u00a0Considering that they really are one single region, this makes the region a true power-house option. \u00a0Some of the reasons for the rankings include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cancun International Airport, the second busiest in Mexico, emerging as one of the most important in Latin America<\/li>\n<li>Cancun Convention &amp; Exhibition Center &amp; CancunMesse, 2 world-class exhibition centers<\/li>\n<li>A combined total of 530 hotels, and about 50,000 rooms, a significant number of which have large spaces for corporate events<\/li>\n<li>Excellent dining on Boulevard Kukulcan in Cancun and Fifth Avenue, Playa del Carmen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Los Cabos also ranked high, being placed at 5th.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit (again, in reality on region, ranked separately) ranked 8th and 10th respectively. \u00a0Both Cabos and Vallarta likewise include a well-connected international airport and a large supply of world-class hotels.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Other regions that fared well were Mexico City (2nd) as a thriving, modern metropolis, Puebla, a charming colonial city that is home to Mexico&#8217;s VW manufacturing, Leon, a central colonial city not too far from the famed expat town of San Miguel de Allende, and Monterrey, the nations tech capital near the Texas border.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mexico is much \u00a0more than a place to relax on the beach and see pyramids (although these are, in themselves, fairly good motivations to look southward;) it is a modern nation that offers an excellent setting for business in a variety of ways.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thomas Lloyd<\/strong><em> graduated from Purdue University Krannert School of Management with a degree in Management\/Financial Option Investments.
